This is known as Thai, Tai, Tay or Thailand massage. Thai massage, originates
from Indian Yoga and traditional Chinese medicine, mainly uses pressure and
stretching techniques. It is performed on a semi-hard floor while being dressed.
Thai massage uses 60 different types of stretching, pulling and pressuring
techniques. One Thai massage séance can take between 1,5 hour up to 4 hours.
It might cause slight discomfort during the séance; however, there will be a
considerable feeling of relaxation after. |
Thai massage is being applied in Thailand since 2500 years and it is one of the
traditional cures of the country. It is applied with the Eastern philosophy and
knowledge, and aims to heal the body and the soul by only using healthy
methods. |
It consists of passive yoga moves, for instance by applying pressure on the energy points on the body, in order to
balance the energy flow and to provide joint elasticity. It is performed while being dressed and on a mattress/cushion.
|
Passive stretching and soft pressuring techniques of the Thai massage dates back to Buddha times and it is like a mix
of Shiatsu and Yoga. Masseurs will trigger the energy flow of the body by applying pressure with their thumbs, hands
and foot on the certain parts of the body. They will also assist the participants to perform some stretching movements. Thai massage will increase elasticity of the body, will decrease stress, will stimulate inner organs and balance the
body's energy system. |
